I worked for 3 different sales companies (one doing computers, one selling travel, and one doing phone sales) and in all three jobs this movie was quoted over and over again. its almost dead for life if your a bottom end salesmen.

Ummm, I hate to rain on your parade but the average real estate salesman makes 50k-75k. And now they'd consider themselves lucky to sell enough to pull down 25k in commission.
Alec Baldwin probably made 500,000 just for this 7 minute scene.

"coffee is for closers", "its fuck or walk", and "a guy doesnt come on the lot lest he wants to buy". words to live by if you sell 4 a living!

any one who's ever sold 45k Volvo's in the middle of jan. in upstate ny when its 5 above 0 wind chill -15 with snow whipping your face frozen and you get maybe 1 or 2 ups a day knows this is exactly the time the owner sends in some total asshole who happens to be the greatest salesman since pt barnum and he comes down on you exactly like Alec Baldwin. one of the truly best performances ever!!!!

Baldwin was "playing" a slimball sales type and I'm sure he really enjoyed it. Only other slimeballs could actually relate with the soulless degenerate he was obviously lampooning as if it was something to actually aspire to.
Got a problem?

It's not dead on accurate because you don't sit on leads like they did at about 6:30. You go after leads when they are hot.

It's not really a "sarcastic" interpretation. It isn't even a caricature. It is a dead on indictment and omen of the type of short money scum that has brought our great country to its knees.
