Had she landed all her jumps, I think that her level of difficulty demonstrated in this 1992 performance would still fare well against today's 2009 skaters.

I'm glad Kristi won, and her program was magnificent, but with her two mistakes (falling on the loop and doubling the salchow), had Midori skated a flawless program, she probably would have won (similar to what happened with Michelle Kwan and Sasha Cohen in 2002). However, EVERYONE fell that night.

Odd--and shocking--that she fell on the triple loop, rather than the salchow, which has been her bane for years.

she has the same music that sasha cohen had in 2001 i liked sashas better but this one just blows me away.

what happened to the video of Kristi skating to the song Milord (by Edith Piaf) at the 1992 Albertville Olympics? why was it taken down?

Not at all, in fact a one footed entry is just considered more difficult (like Irina Slutskaya and Carolina Kostner do). I don't know how anyone can get triple loop off of one foot (never mind triple loop combos that people are doing nowadays, unbelievable!!!)

nowadays i see a lot of people do two footed takeoffs on their loops. is there a deduction for that? is it considered bad form?

I'm not sure what lutz you're watching, but Kristi does a HUGE flutz, that's not even debatable. Midori's program was mature and elegant, it was only weenies like Scott Hamilton that said she was weak choreographically. I'm still a big Kristi fan but come on, you'd have to be blind not to see her very obvious change of edge.

Kristi's Lutz isn't a flutz at all. Midori;s LP was weak choreographically; she did a lot of "hand movements" during the first half that at some point she looked like she was doing some window washing & ceiling dusting. This night being the Artistic program, Kristi's had the complete package; a difficult 3-3 combo (which Ito didn't do) and movements that is within the music style.
