I wonder if you can make a video stating that over 60 billion live-stocks are raised and killed which is destroying our planet. In 2012, there will be 9 billion people on earth. I hope 90 billion innocent animals doesn't die per year by then cos the world's karma will be too heavy for the planet to survive. I promise to favorite it on my page.haha

Hi Dangerwinn, Approximately 60 Billion animals suffer and are killed each year for various products and for "food". This does not include the countless sea dwelling animals, or the millions killed in experiments etc, for fur etc. In Australia alone its approximately 400 million land dwelling animals are killed for "food".

Does anyone know how many live-stocks are killed annually world-wide? Thanks

i agree once you stop eating animal products you shold have no desire for such things.. i hate the thought of it now.. its a soulfull experience you cant describe unless you do it.its also a benefit to miss out on most of the chemicals in processed food like aspartame and other poisons..

I would even extend that to say that a Buddhist veg that occasionally gives in to their urges & EATS meat occasionally is still veg. People make mistakes and are imperfect, Eaglerock999. Buddhism is not a religion that demands stringent perfection.

I disagree with you, Eaglerock999. I think that there is a stage to being veg where a newbie will still 'hanker' for meat but if their abstinence is constant & their intention & motivation are altruistic, then they are truly veg. I think this line of thinking is very discouraging to new vegs, who'll naturally still crave meat for a while. We live in a society flooded by animal products, & we're conditioned to want them. Anyone who resists that is doing something good, even if they miss meat.

I gave up meat a long time ago but have found it dificult to become vegan but i keep trying and your vids are a real insperation thanks

***** and FAVED! I invite everyone to check out HH 17th Karmapa's teachings on eating meat. He also has taught against the use of animal products like silk brocade, which I believe to be veganism, though he has probably never heard that word!

If you avoid meat to follow the Enlightened Ones but secretly hanker afer it you are not a true Vegan or a Vegetarian. It should be a natural honest desire, also it will be easy to dispense with all wrong harmful desires too,by the same rule. It only comes with Enlightenment of some degree anyway. One needs to be compassionate to oneself.

And because of this and the attitute of other religions towards animals I was always very anti-religious. Now ofcourse I know people who are very passionate about eating meat make up excuses and change texts and history to continue their unethical lifestyle. Thanks for the videos and thanks for being vegan :)

It's great to see many more people that are compassionate towards all beings. I stopped eating meat over 25 years ago and have been vegan since 15 years or so. Only later I discovered that buddhism promotes veganism as well. I had heard about Shakyamuni accepting meat when it was given to him and I always thought that was very strange if you think logically.
