I think what's amazing is how ppl forget how incredible JOS was. Most casual fans know the Verve stuff, but after listening to the "Complete February 1957 Blue Note Sessions" Mosaic the other day after a long time, his first 15 albums are astonishing. Jimmy's feel, the phrasing, those single note horn lines in the right hand, everything. Nobody has done it quite the same way before or since. My first JOS LP was "The Sermon" when I was literally 2 years old. I'm that dedicated to jazz.

I'm in my schools jazz band, and we play this song. I think its one of the best jazz songs I ever heard!

he's soaking up the jazzy-bluesy goodness before he lays some more down. At 4:07 some must have fallen on the floor, so he wipes it off his shoe and on to the keyboard. :D

Jimmy's music inspires any musician who loves his ax and wants to ad-lib, free-wheel, free-form, jazz rock and all the rest..I love to just listen and play along (guitar) and try to keep up ...
